Revolution received the following statement issued by author and activist Joel Kovel. In an outrageous attack on dissent in academia, and the ability to engage in critical examination of Israel and Zionism, Joel Kovel was recently notified by the administration at Bard College, where he is professor of social studies, that his contract will not be renewed beyond July this year. Kovel is the author of nine books, the most recent being Overcoming Zionism: Creating a Single Democratic State in Israel/Palestine.
